Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is one of the best radiologic diagnostic methods: it is low-cost, safe, non-invasive, has no side effects, dynamic and provides valuable information about the condition of the joint.
Ultrasound of the joints takes up to 10 minutes, and it can take the same amount of time to evaluate the test data. During the procedure, the patient does not feel pain, he does not need to be given any medication.
Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is recommended when there is joint pain, swelling, inflammation or arthritis may be suspected. The risk of disease increases if you have had a joint injury and your pain has come back after a while.
During this examination, it is possible to identify damage to the joints of the whole body (except spine joints), changes in the surrounding tissues, and to assess whether there is no fluid in the joint.
At our treatment center, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is performed by PhD Saulius Rutkauskas, radiologist with 15 years of experience in musculoskeletal diagnostic, the head of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Society in Lithuania.
